Pumpkin Pie in a Mug

Football is back, mornings have a chill in the air, coffee houses have their pumpkin and spice drinks out, and I’m craving pumpkin 🙂 Yes I know fall doesn’t officially begin until September 22. That isn’t putting a damper on my excitement for the upcoming season though! Sometimes I want pumpkin dessert but don’t feel like putting the time into a full pie or pumpkin roll. That is why I created pumpkin pie in a mug! Simple, fast and oh does it hit the spot when I’m craving a pumpkin spicy dessert 🙂 Continue reading “Pumpkin Pie in a Mug”

Gluten Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye Cake

Growing up one of my favorite things my mom made was buckeyes. They are yummy balls of peanut butter dipped in chocolate. Yep, if I had to name one major food weakness (after bread) it is definitely chocolate peanut butter anything! I also have a dear friend who recently had to go gluten free. This girl is super sweet and any time we have food at church (um, weekly y’all) she watches everyone eat dessert and never complains! So this cake was born as a way to make sure my friend has a dessert option 🙂

Published!

Eek! So I got some really exciting mail today… from American Profile Magazine! I had in my hands 3 copies of the back to school issue that my blog post College Ruled T-shirts was featured in. I wrote this post 3 years ago and it was so much fun to see it resurface and even become a feature in a nationwide magazine! This full color magazine is printed and distributed in newspapers across America. Check them out at AmericanProfile.com. Continue reading “Published!”

Snickerdoodle Pie

One of my all time favorite pies is buttermilk pie. Some people call them chess pies and I think there is cornmeal in the chess pie making it slightly different. Recently I had this idea, what if I make a buttermilk pie into a snickerdoodle pie?! I love buttermilk pie and I love snickerdoodles… I didn’t have to try too hard to convince myself to attempt it 🙂

Shark Cake

Today is my sweet oldest Katie’s 7th birthday! We already had a fun big Frozen themed party with friends. The girls like to celebrate their birthdays together and have a party between their two birthdays. So on the actual day we let them choose what I make for dinner, make a small cake at home and have a few local family members over for cake 🙂
