Today I want to share with you a project I’ve been working on for our new home! I’m so excited about this fun wall project because it is near and dear to my heart. Our little family of 5 consists of people all born in different states. Sounds strange to some I know but I’m sure there are others out there too. I love this interesting little fact about our family. It is part of our story, and our story is one of my favorite things! I love seeing how God has knit our little family together in His perfect way in His perfect timing.
I wanted to highlight this unique part of our family in some type of wall art. Well here it is!
So I came up with a plan on paper, designed it on my silhouette program, cut black vinyl out on the silhouette machine, painted wooden canvas boxes white, and put the vinyl on the canvases. First came New York, my husband Eric was born in upstate New York. I’m so grateful for this man and his story that led him to become such an amazing husband and father! New York is special in my heart too now because of him. The people that helped raise him there, the experiences he had growing up on a dairy farm, and the absolute beauty that is upstate New York when we get to visit family there.
Then came Tennessee, I was born in East Tennessee. Such a gorgeous state, the saying, “the mountains are calling” is special to me. I love those mountains deeply and anytime I visit I instantly feel at home. There is no where else like it, rich in beauty, people and my roots!
Our first born came along while we lived in Virginia on the border of North Carolina. The hospital where she was born was in North Carolina. North Carolina is where I first held our little miracle baby, those moments are more precious to me than all the gold in the world.
Our second daughter was born in Texas where we lived for around 1 1/2 years. A Texas hospital staff saved my baby’s (and my) life during her birth. I have nothing but love for this state and the spunky and smart girl I had while we lived there!
Then our son came while we were living in Oklahoma for 6 years. This boy is through and through rough and tumble cowboy and lives up to his Okie heritage well. We had a wonderful community of friends, family and church family in Oklahoma. Our time there was precious and so is our beef loving little guy who completed our little family!
I love how they all come together to represent each of our beginnings! I found a really sweet little sign to go in the middle too.
Again I’m beyond grateful for our little story, I thank God everyday for all he has done for us. Especially my children, the children doctors told me I would never have, the children I longed for as I went through years of infertility, the children God graciously gave me, the children who give me joy, the children who can be a handful (to say the least) but are also our biggest blessing!
I realize it isn’t easy to see in the larger pics but I love this wall that gives a visual representation of the beautiful story of our little family. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Beautiful Story of Family .
I LOVE this! It looks so cute on your wall. Each member of our family of four was born in a different state too!
