Tonight we are having an Olympics opening ceremonies party and the kids and I love decorating. So our living room has streamers and balloons in the five Olympic ring colors. The girls wanted to make Olympic shirts and i remembered all the toilet paper rolls I’ve been saving and got a great idea.
I have a lovely bench that my husband made for our entryway one Christmas as a gift to me. He used old wood because he knows I love the look of repurposed boards. I didn’t evenwant to paint or stain it, although some parts showed old paint and none of the boards were a perfect match in color.

My kids and I microwaved a bar of Ivory soap, if you have never seen this done, try it! When microwaved Ivory soap will expand up to six times it’s original size becoming a big soap “cloud.” see the full post and repurpose for the soap here!
Every year my husband and I enjoy planting our own organic vegetable garden. We enjoy working in it together and teaching our children about how things grow and taking pride in growing our own food. Each year brings challenges like weeds, animals, bugs, etc. Last year we struggled with a rather large raccoon and many squirrels. This year we have a cute bunny who my children have named and love to watch hop around the yard. He has eaten several cucumber plants and bean plants. click here for the full post

So I had this idea suggested by a reader and I love it. Fill a balloon with play dough and you have a cheap and kid friendly stress ball/toy! I made one last night as a trial to take to the ball field for my almost two year old as a boredom buster. It ended up being a fight between my three little ones over who got to play with it next.
