Scrappy Necklaces

I was going through my fabric scraps yesterday and found some long strips of fabric that were pretty but not really usable for sewing. I decided to braid them and make necklaces! I love how they turned out ๐Ÿ™‚ totally original, easy and a fun scrappy look. Continue reading “Scrappy Necklaces”

A Rainbow of Beans

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and we are enjoying some fun projects to celebrate our Irish heritage! My maternal grandfather was Irish and I love sharingย traditions with my little family ๐Ÿ™‚ St. Patrick’s Day is a big deal around here. This week we are doing rainbow activities! As a fun sensory project we colored some beans in rainbow colors for our sensory bin. Continue reading “A Rainbow of Beans”

Marshmallow Bits Container Repurpose

Last week I posted about some homemade hot chocolate in a jar gifts I was making for friends and family. Well I bought several jars of the marshmallow bits on sale and with coupons for these gifts. While going to throw away the empty containers I stopped and actually looked at them. After taking off the labels and washing them they were nice containers! Perfect size for a stack of homemade cookies ๐Ÿ™‚

Simple DIY Body Wash

I have eczema, my three kids sadly inherited my eczema also. So itchy dry skin is a constant issue in our home, especially in the winter. I am always looking for products that will help ease the symptoms of our eczema. Especially soaps, I usually only buy body wash or soap that is for sensitive skin or extra moisturizing. This can be expensive! I am a (non-extreme) couponer, so sometimes it is cheaper to buy the moisturizing/sensitive bar instead of body wash. Yet my entire family prefers body wash over slippery bars which turn into little slivers that get wasted and thrown away. So I buy the bars when I can get them cheaper than body wash and use them to make our own body wash! Continue reading “Simple DIY Body Wash”

DIY Febreeze NO Fabric Softener

I love febreeze, but it is a rather expensive product and I have seen many pins on Pinterest for making your own cheaper. The ones I have seen are made with liquid fabric softener, and for various reasons we do not use liquid fabric softener in our home. In an attempt to make my own febreeze cheaper and without liquid fabric softener I have come up with my own that I love and want to share with my great readers!

Glitter Shoes Upcycle

Each day I hear many things over and over since I have three kids 5 and under. Besides, “I love you,” my favorite thing I hear each day (multiple times a day) from my middle child Bella is, “I’m going to be a great doctor someday momma.” My sweet girl loves the Disney show Doc McStuffins. Because of this show she talks about being a doctor all the time. I get my temperature “taken” (with her hand and fake thermometer) a few times a day, and I’ve been diagnosed with many crazy sounding illnesses. Her bedside manner is so sweet since during each exam she lets you cuddle her teddy bear and some prescriptions include kisses and chocolate ๐Ÿ™‚
