Minecraft Cake and Cupcakes

Happy Tuesday friends! I just delivered a fun cake for a little boy’s birthday party tonight. I thought I would share since it seems to be a pretty popular theme for boys lately. It is a Minecraft Cake and cupcakes. Although I have to admit ignorance here, until I was asked to make this cake I had no idea what Minecraft was and had to do research first :).

The cake is chocolate and the cupcakes are green colored butter cake. They are decorated with my homemade fondant (click for the recipe).

  1. Very nicely done. I enjoy making sculptured cakes. I had no idea what a “minecraft” cake was either. [smile] I raised three children, two girls and a boy. Now I am having fun doing things with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  3. Love the cake! It’s too cute!
It would be cool to see tools and other creatures on the cake and cupcakes!
Enderman and Steve are popular characters and as for tools fans love the diamond sword and diamond pickaxes!
I play Minecraft AND love baking. I really want to try something Minecraft themed now!

I can’t get over the sheep! Haha, you’ve capture their “baaaahhh “‘s perfectly!

  4. What size cake pan did you use and is it four layers or two? Love the cake. I would like to attempt one similar.
