My half marathon was yesterday! I’ve had so much support from my friends and followers I feel very blessed. Many of you have asked for an update so here it is…
It was super cold! When we stepped off to race it was about 16 degrees, brrr! It didn’t warm up really either, I wasn’t a fan of the timing of this major cold front. Cheryl and I were nervous and excited! It was long, cold and AH-MAZING! I’m so thankful my body could handle it. Here is a picture from right after the race with our medals. Cheryl my awesome friend is on the left in a dark blue shirt and I am on the right in a royal blue shirt.
You can’t see my hands because I have on black gloves 🙂 I didn’t lose them. Even though I couldn’t feel them the whole time! At mile 10ish I couldn’t feel my arms and panicked a bit, I kept thinking this isn’t worth losing my arms over lol. They are fine of course, it was just a scary feeling or non-feeling I guess. Other than a toe blister I am fine today. I’m giving myself the week off from running. I think I deserve it 😉 thanks for stopping by!
Johanna
Love it and congrats!!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to read more about it 🙂
Johanna, you are amazing!!!!!!! Bless your heart for hanging in there…….I don’t like the cold I just couldn’t do it. My daughter lives in Katy, Tx is getting ready for another marathon soon. God bless you both………you rock!!!!!!
I could not have asked for a better friend to experience this with. Love you my dear friend 🙂
Awesome job 😀
I have run 5 marathons and over a dozen half marathons, but I could never have run in this cold. Kudos to you for your dedication and hard work, and a huge congrats on completing your first big race!!
