Oreo Cookie Cake

I found a recipe for an Oreo cookie cake on Pinterest that looked amazing! I started reading the recipe because I showed it to my mother-in-law and she said I should make it. She is watching my kiddos tonight so my boyfriend (husband) and I can go out on a date. So I decided it was the perfect chance to make it as a thank you. I changed the recipe some to make it easier to make. A here it is changed and just as tasty 🙂

The original recipe can be found here: original Oreo cake recipe. Here is my version, the main difference is I didn’t make cream cheese icing from scratch and then add Oreos and whipped topping to the icing…

Ingredients:

Cake:
1 box white cake mix
15 Oreos crushed
Eggs, oil and water according to the back of the box of cake mix

Icing:
2 cans cream cheese icing
15 Oreos crushed
1 tub of frozen whipped topping thawed

First mix the box cake mix as directed.

Crush the Oreos and add to the cake mix.

I love the way it looked mixed in!

I used two small square pans instead of round since my mother-in-law only had one round one. I’m glad, I like changing it up with shapes of cakes 🙂

I baked them for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. While cooling I made the icing. Three ingredients, so simple and so GOOD tasting!

I iced the top of the bottom layer.

Then I placed the top layer on.

Then iced the whole thing with chunky, yummy Oreo icing!

Well, I’m sure this won’t be the last time I make this amazing cake! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • I am making this cake for the second time. Took it to work for a birthday , now making it for my family. One question about the icing. I have never mixed cool whip with icing. should you mix it then refrigerate? Both times, my icing was falling off the cake. The one that I took to work didn’t make it there well. The top layer opened up and broke evenly into 4 pieces. It was delicious but at first I was mortified.

  2. glad I just seen your comment about refrigerating the icing before using, the first time I made this, it fell apart while I was icing. I still ate it of course, but thanks for the tip!!
