Have you ever gone to the pantry looking for powdered sugar while baking and you were out? OK, so as a cake baker it probably does happen to me a bit more often than other people but it happens! Ever wonder if there was a substitute for powdered sugar or a way to make some yourself? Well… today I’m going to show you how to make it at home! With only one ingredient!
Ingredients:
1/3 cup Granulated white sugar
Yep that is all! Oh and a food processor, mini food processor, coffee grinder or one of those infomercial bullet amazing does-it-all things. This is what I used, my mini food processor. Only because there are less parts to wash than my big one 🙂
Now I put the sugar in the food processor.
Turn it on and watch it change!
I let it go for several minutes until when I check it is light and fluffy powdered sugar.
For me 1/3 cup of white sugar gives me 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
How easy is THAT? I still buy powdered sugar but in a pinch it is simple and quick to make 🙂 thanks for stopping by!
