I’ve been making these yummy snacks for a while now and was making a batch for the kids this morning and decided to share with my readers.
For those of you who haven’t made these, give it a try! Especially if you love peanut butter, our family adores peanut butter.
Ingredients:
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 cups cheerios
First cover your counter top with wax paper to drop the cheerio bites onto when they are ready.
When measuring the corn syrup, I like to spray my measuring cup with cooking spray first so the corn syrup all pours out very easily. Put the corn syrup and sugar in a large pot and stir over medium heat until boiling. Let it boil for about a minute and then take off the heat. Next put the peanut butter and vanilla in and stir until well blended and smooth. Then pour in the cheerios and gently stir until they are all coated.
Now take two spoons, one to scoop the other to rake it off the first spoon onto the wax paper. I drop what I consider to be cookie size drops onto the wax paper. Then let cool and peel off the wax paper. Store in a container with an air tight lid, they don’t last very long around here :). So I’m not sure on the shelf life.
Thanks for stopping by!

I’m not sure what could be substituted for the peanut butter. I would love to hear about it if you find a new spin on these without peanut butter though. 🙂
