So since my cake/birthday party posts are the most popular on my blog I thought I would do a few posts on cakes I’ve made in the past that I liked. Today’s post cake is from my daughter Bella’s first birthday party. The theme was bunny garden, so I decided to make a garden cake. Here are some pictures of the cake from the front and the top.
I iced the whole thing in green homemade icing and then made the six “dirt” areas out of crushed graham crackers and crushed Oreos mixed together and carefully made into squares on the icing. Next I used homemade fondant to form all of my veggies. The hardest were the corn and the tomatoes/tomato cages. I let them dry and then placed them as if they were growing in the “dirt”. Next I made small signs on the computer and printed them off and glued them front to back onto toothpicks and used them as plant markers in the garden. I also used some white fondant to cut out fence posts and placed them around the cake. I loved how it turned out and was one of my first good cakes. Here are some more up close pics of the different plants.
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
