Now that it is fall I have lots of great activities I cannot wait to do with my kiddos! One we did last week was a blast and the kids played with it for almost an hour. I have let the kids play in shaving cream on our dinning room table before since it is fun to write in and just a fluffy sensory experience. This time though I wanted to give it a fall twist and tried a few new things.
Fall Burlap Wreath
Happy First Day of Fall friends! This year instead of getting out my old fall wreath for the front door I made a new one. The old one I had made was used for 8 years and looking worse for the wear. I just love burlap and have seen a few cute burlap wreaths floating around Pinterest so I went for it. I actually had a few rolls of burlap table runner leftover from my oldest daughter’s 5th birthday party over a year ago. If you are a reader, you might remember that it was a shabby chic cowgirl party found here. I’m glad I held onto all of that burlap!
Lightning Bug Jars
The summer is winding down now, only a few more weeks until it is officially fall. My kids are hanging onto summer as long a they can! A few nights ago we came home at dusk and the lightning bugs were out. Our oldest of course initiated a lightning bug hunt :). We keep some ball jars just for this and in the spirit of the end of summer I thought I would share. Continue reading “Lightning Bug Jars”
Birthday Party for 2 Sweet Girls
This year we were traveling all around my daughter Bella’s birthday in July. By the time we slowed down enough to have a real party it was almost her older sister’s birthday. So after talking to the girls, they were fine combining their parties into one. They were not budging on a combined theme though. So we threw a half My Little Pony and half Doc McStuffins party!
Packing for Kids Simplified
Our summer has been packed with travel, camps, conferences, and more! Youth ministry is in full swing each summer and we love it, even the traveling 5 weeks in a row and being crazy busy for 7 weeks straight. I haven’t had a chance to sit and blog in too long, but now I am back. We are settling in to our school year and getting back into a normal schedule again (insert happy dance here 🙂 ). So, I have several posts to catch up on from the summer. The first I want to share is one about how I pack my kids for all of this traveling. Continue reading “Packing for Kids Simplified”
We Love VBS
We LOVE VBS! This week our church and a few others are having our annual VBS program each night. My kids love it, I love helping out and I am so proud of my husband for all of the hard work he does to make it happen. Last night was our VBS kickoff and the girls could hardly wait, so I decided to let them make some fun “I love VBS” shirts to pass the time until the kickoff. Continue reading “We Love VBS”
Wildflower Wedding Cake
This weekend I did a classic wedding cake with sugar wildflowers. I also made a chocolate rosette cake for the groom’s cake. I’m sharing a few pics of them Continue reading “Wildflower Wedding Cake”
Noah’s Superhero Party
My son turned 3 last weekend! He asked for a superhero party this year and as a closet superhero fan I was more than a little excited 🙂 Here is a peek at our little party (before my kids turn 5 we just do a family party at home and after 5 they start inviting friends) it was lots of fun.
