My son turned 3 last weekend! He asked for a superhero party this year and as a closet superhero fan I was more than a little excited 🙂 Here is a peek at our little party (before my kids turn 5 we just do a family party at home and after 5 they start inviting friends) it was lots of fun.

Yesterday I went from scratchy throat to sore throat/cold status. So my body made me slow down and get some much needed rest. I also needed to do some blogging though and decided I haven’t done a day in pictures in a while. So here it is, my sick day home with my kiddos trying to feel better. Enjoy 🙂

Over the weekend my blog went over 1 million views! This was an exciting milestone for me. I have never considered myself as having anything worth saying that others would want to hear/read about. So seeing my little blog get bigger and bigger has been a very encouraging experience. Maybe there are people out there who enjoy some of the things I do and write about. On the same day I went over 400 e-mail followers, this amazes me as well. Most of the time I am pretty sure my friends and family don’t even have any interest in my blog, but 400 people want to receive an e-mail every time I post something new! Then I noticed my Pinterest followers have jumped from 170 followers a month ago to over 1100, again I’m floored. I have been terribly busy over the last week renovating our bathroom until the wee hours of the morning, baking and cleaning for our annual open house party and participating in Christmas events. So I haven’t been posting like normal, but I felt I needed to stop and say thank you to my readers for helping me achieve these milestones. I am sharing a recipe I use as a thank you to my husband often since it is one of his favorites, my twice baked potatoes.

Wow, in just five months I have gone over half a million views! It is hard for me to comprehend this amount of traffic, I am so thankful to my faithful readers and even those who only have stopped by once. I love blogging about my crazy but blessed life and it’s become a great way for me to preserve and share my every day life.

So I know it’s only August 1st but…. I LOVE FALL! I just know its getting closer and the days have been so hot and loooong, I’ve been dreaming of Fall.
Monday was our 8 year wedding anniversary.
We grew up in families with very different ideas of “vacation”. My family would go on vacation that was planned minute by minute and packed full of seeing and doing everything possible letting no opportunity to learn or experience something new pass us by. My husband’s family would go on vacation and totally relax and just be together enjoying having nothing to do.
