It is starting to feel more like spring! Warmer weather, gardening underway, and my kids and I are loving the extra time in the backyard! I have been freshening up some of our yard decor lately and wanted to share the results. I have some gnomes in my raised herb garden given to me by my gnome loving husband, they are on their third summer though and have seen better days. So I decided to repaint and relacquer them. Then I noticed our plain wooden bird house didn’t weather the winter well. Several pieces of wood had fallen off and the wood was dirty and yucky looking. So I used wood glue to repair it and then painted a fun spring color Continue reading “Sprucing Up for Spring”

DIY Toddler Hair Cutting Tips
When I was in college I learned to cut hair. It was more of a money saving skill so I could give my brother free hair cuts. Then I gave them to my friends and boyfriend (now husband). I learned to do it on my own, I eventually learned layers, highlighting and dying as well. I’ve been cutting my husband’s hair for 11 years now. So when I had a son and he needed his first hair cut I got out the clippers thinking, “this will be simple.” Boy oh boy was I ever wrong! DIY Moisturizing Face Cream/Body Butter
As I have mentioned before I have eczema. My kids have eczema. Lotion is a major part of our lives. We spend a lot on lotion to ease our itching and painful dry spots. Recently I ran out of face cream and have been using some coconut oil instead. It made my face so soft I tried it on my eczema after showers. It has worked so well I decided to try and make a whipped face cream/body butter from it. Continue reading “DIY Moisturizing Face Cream/Body Butter”
