Valentine’s Day T-Shirts

Each year around Valentine’s Day I like to make cute shirts with the girls for them to wear on and around Valentine’s Day. This year I had gotten some shirts at Hobby Lobby back in the fall during a 50% off all t-shirts sale.  So the regularly $3.50 shirts (not a bad price anyway) were $1.75 each.  I’d gotten two pink and saved them just for this year’s project. Today I got them out along with some red acrylic paint, fabric medium (to add to the paint to make it fabric permanent), a paint brush, newspaper and old poster board for inside the shirts so the paint didn’t leak through.

This year’s design was inspired by my Bella, she loves sign language. She has learned quite a bit and uses it often, especially when upset (strange but true the more mad Bella is the more signing and less talking). So I decided to paint their hands with the red paint on all but the middle two fingers so when they pressed it on the shirts it looks like the sign for “I love you.”

Then I painted just their pointer fingers and let them press them twice making heart shapes around their handprint. I love the way they turned out and the girls and I as usual had a blast making them this morning 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!
