During January and February the Tulsa Zoo (largest zoo near us) does something called Dollar Days on every Monday of both months. All admission is a dollar 🙂 It made our family’s price drop from 24 dollars to 4 dollars, big difference for us. Since we have never been to this zoo we were very excited to try it out. Eric had staff meeting as usual on a Monday morning until lunchtime and then he came home, we ate (zoo prices for food are totally ridiculous) and then headed out. It worked out great because it took us a while to drive there and the kids all got in a decent nap before with full bellies before we arrived.

Even though the forecast was a high over 60 degrees I still layered everyone up for the trip, but it ended up being so nice when long-sleeved shirts were plenty. I had jackets on everyone but they got peeled off 🙂 The wind wasn’t bad at all and the lack of people on a Monday in January was wonderful! We could take our time and not feel rushed by blocking others. It was such a pleasant trip in so many ways, I’m really glad we were able to do it. The look on Noah’s face when a monkey came right up to the glass to be inches from my sweet 1 year old’s face was priceless. He literally cried when we had to move on from his new little monkey buddy. Katie, my 4-year-old had a peacock walk right up to her and she tried to “speak peacock” to it because she was a peacock two Halloweens ago 🙂 While my 3-year-old Bella loved learning about the animals, asking us what all their names were, what they ate and were they with their mommies. It was a magical day with my little family. We laughed, learned and most importantly loved on each other. Here are some of my favorite pics from today, Enjoy 🙂 Thanks for stopping by…
