Exploding Art!

Today at my annual Art Camp I let my kids do exploding art!!! It was our super hero theme day and the kids loved the exploding art 🙂

I filled pop top canisters similar to the old film canisters with watered down paint. I got 6 for a dollar at the dollar tree. Then cut alka seltzer tabs in half.

We popped an alka seltzer into the canister with the paint then quickly put the top on and flipped them upside down on a poster board. The pressure builds and they explode! The paint flies out and creates fun art 🙂
