I am always looking for ways to teach and occupy my two year old while I homeschool my older two girls. My focus with him lately has been recognizing shapes and colors. I have some flash cards with shapes and colors and he does really well with them. So I decided to try something new and it was a big hit with my little guy!
Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday! We did some reading in his honor, watched a Dr. Seuss movie, had a yummy Dr. Seuss inspired meal for dinner, and gave the kids a green Oobleck inspired bath 
We are enjoying our Florida vacation, mostly on the beach. I wanted to have the kids help me make something special to thank their Grandma for all she has done for us to make our trip special. We got beautiful snow today in Oklahoma! We woke up to it coming down and it still is going steady. I have such happy kids and a very happy husband (he is from New York and LOVES snow). This whole last week has been volcano week in our house! That is what our science has been about and my kids are loving it We went to the library for books and DVDs about volcanoes, built and set off volcano models, played with food volcanoes, and tons of facts about volcanoes have been learned. I must say, volcano week has been a huge hit at the Spaulding house! I even did 16 more models with my art class today.
