  1. Love your blog. Lots of great ideas here! And what a special treat to see another Johanna. We share the same name.

  2. Wow Just found your blog and found it extremely interesting. I too am a stay at home mom…. One happy one at that! I have 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls… And blessed with 2 grandchildren. I home school our 11 year old because public schools would not understand acceptance of ADHD. And your page so far just from the few things I have seen is helping me do a few things with him. AWESOME. Thanks so much for giving. We send roses. Visit my Blog to understand that. It is a treasure in itself.

  4. This is Debbie Tomerlin from San Angelo, Tx!!! I am so blessed I found your sight. I am a retired math teacher after 30 years. You are to be commended for all you do!! Bless you and your family!

  5. I like the way you live in the now. I’m not particularly religious but I see how you how you enjoy every moment with sensitivity and that to me is a very great faith.

  6. Hi Joanna, I love your Time Out Bottles but I have a question. In the very beginning, you mention “3/4″…but not what it is. I soooo want to make these for my 3 yr old grandaughter but not sure what you are referring to.

  7. For your time out bottles could you please send me specific measurements to make these in the smart water bottle. I am so not good with guessing and would love to make a few of these for my kids and nieces.
    Thanks

    1. I don’t have specific measurements since each bottle I just add and subtract based on how long I want it to take to settle. Some of my commenters have posted some measurements they have used if you scroll down through the comments though.

  8. Hi Johanna, your blog is beautiful. I love the honest, heartfelt and passionate way that you write. My husband was a youth minister for quite a few years (I was a worship leader at our local church for about 4 years also) but we’ve taken some time off after getting married (2 years in November!). It was weird at first; getting used to NOT serving after serving for so long. Both of us grew up in the church and served in various roles before going into the ministry roles above. I love God, I love my church… but far out, being in ministry is tiring!! We definitely feel like we did the right thing by giving each other more time, rather than being at church a few nights per week plus weekends. Argh! You sound beautiful inside and out. I am sure your husband loves and values all of the support that you provide for him and your church family. It’s a pleasure to have found your blog. We don’t have children yet but it’s lovely to read about the adventures you’re having with yours!
Sending you a hug from Australia, Laura (darn it, I’m not another Johanna, sorry!) xx

  10. I would love to write about your relaxation/time out bottles! I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and I will be guest posting on a pretty big SLP bloggers website about them! I wanted your permission as these are clearly not my idea πŸ™‚ I will link to your post and also be facebook and pinterest promoting the post! I will share things I found helpful when making them, pictures of the process and ways we will be using them in Speech-Language Pathology and Resource Room! Let me know if this is okay!

    1. I’m so glad you found it helpful and want to use it! I am fine if you want to write about it and give tips that worked for you. My only request is that you refer back to my post for the initial “how-to”. I appreciate that you want to give me credit for my ideas πŸ™‚ Thanks!

      1. Oh yes! Giving credit is soo important!! I make my own products and I would hope people treat my things the same way πŸ™‚ Practice what you preach! I will leave a link to my post when it’s published if you want to check it out!

  12. Loving reading your creative ideas! Im a Say At Home Mum as well with 3 kids under 6 (my youngest is also named Noah) and also a youth pastors wife, but living in Australia!! Thanks for your ideas im going to use the bottle idea for my second (who’s two) as time out is horrible at the moment. Although im going to have to do a shorter one as i think 5 mins might be to long for him, but its a great idea for my 5 year old! Keep the ideas coming its great to see other young mums still doing ministry! Its hard work, but so worth it to see our kids grow up in a awesome church family!!

  13. Your blog was recommended on facebook, and I am so glad it was! I am a stay at home longing to be a mother and am loving reading your blog. So far today I have cried, laughed and wondered at some of your blogs. Thank you for sharing and helping – God bless.

  14. Thank you for your bloc. I’m a SAHM too. I used to be a teacher and am starting yo muss it, but not enough to trade being at home! My oldest two are also girls and are 11 months and 4 days apart. I love meeting other moms whose children are so close! Now they are 5 and 4 and my youngest (a boy) is 15 months. I can so relate to your blog! Thank you!

  15. I know you probably get this a lot, but I wanted to just wanted to say it myself. Thank you for being a true woman of God, and standing by your husband, I am a minister, and I know how hard it is to be a minister’s wife, and you seem to have it down. I just wanted to tell you that! God Bless you, and your husband in all you do!

  16. Have tried to make these, but having some difficulty. Used hot water to help glue dissolve, but then when i shake it to mix it together, I get a lot of foam/bubbles at the top.
Any hints/suggestions? Really want this to work.

  17. I am a new dad and I came across your blog by happenstance. I love some of your ideas! The glitter bottle timer and play-dough stress ball are two of many ideas that I plan on using!

  18. Do you know of a kind of glue that can be used for this that will not absorb the color of the glitter. I’m doing something specially themed, with red glitter, but I need the liquid to be clear (not pink or rosey) when all the glue has settled.

  19. Hi Johanna. This is going maybe be a weird question but are you from Minnesota? My sisters best friend growing up was Johanna and now she is a youth pastors wife with 3 kids. Just really similar. Weird huh? If you want to email privately
